Playing it safe might be as dangerous in the long run as taking a risk

Playing it safe is sometimes the exit we should not take.
Because what we want now is not what we will want later.
Whether it'd be by avoiding the tough conversations, or hiding within ourselves some unhealed wounds, sooner or later, these things will catch up to us.
Shortcuts can sometimes be paved with poison.
The bad news is that the good old comfort zone in certain instances, will not remain infinitely comfortable.
You may think that you are saving face by not telling your spouse how you feel deep inside, but in fact, you are not.
Maybe it's easier to not reinforce discipline on the kids after they have failed to do what they were supposed to do, but feeling happy now will not make you happy down the road when the same thing happens again.
There's times where we have to do precisely the one thing we fear doing, or don't feel like doing.

Anything worthwhile in life requires some form of risk.
Take love for example.
When you commit to someone, you have no way of knowing if the love will last.
You nonetheless decide to take the risk, right?
If you however have one foot out the door, you will never be able to get the full experience.
It's ok to be scared of things in life.
As long as you don't let these fears stop you from living this life journey to the fullest.
Stay in check with yourself, and make sure that you are not sabotaging either yourself, or the ones closest to you.

The modern world may offer to us a quick-fix solution for almost everything, but a wise man knows that there's no quick-fixes for growth and to build meaningful stuff.
