Have you ever wondered how it would look like if those biblical apocalypse scenarios ever happened? Well... I think they would look more or less like the images in this post...
Yes, these are NOT PHOTOSHOP! That's the view I get from my summer house! There is a huge fire some Kilometres away that is clouding the whole sky! Even the sun can't shine through these clouds! The fire department is now trying to control the flames but it's hard, the wind doesn't help...
Last year half of Portugal went up in flames, around 100 people died, this year it's burning the other half... At least this time, so far, there aren't any victims!
Until selling burned wood stops being a business this won't stop... until people are charged with greater sentences then a couple of years for burning a forest this won't stop!
At least this time my country actually got help from Spain. Last year the fire was raging and my country stopped Spain's firetrucks at the border, saying they didn't need help, saying they would actually cause more harm than good! 100 people died... sorry Spain, my government would rather put some bucks in their pockets than to save lives...
This all comes down to politics, I've never been much into politics, until last year!
Last year's huge fire got me really really mad... some of my friends had to travel through roads surrounded by flames just to get to our college! Last year was also the time I got into crypto!
Cryptos made me realize how corrupt the current system is! How greedy and rotten the current system is! And how much needs to change... but it takes time!
Meanwhile, it's the population that suffers, meanwhile people die, meanwhile people cry for their loved ones!
Can you imagine? Can you imagine what is like to have all your belongings, everything that you worked so hard going up in flames! Can you imagine what is like being burned alive, the skin melting, the smell of it!
Can you imagine what is like, holding your daughter or your wife and knowing... knowing that in a couple of minutes you will die! Listening to them crying, listening to them chocking on the smoke... and at the end... listening to them screaming in pain!
Last year we got a reporter called Judite Sousa that actually went to the site of the forest fire and filmed a covered corpse... the population got angry with the reporter! In my opinion, she was just doing her job! She was showing the reality! The reality is that, that covered corpse, was once a person! A person with dreams! A person with a family! A person with loved ones! A person that got burned alive because of the stupidity of the government!
People were saying that the reporter "disrespected the dead"... the corpse was already dead, and guess what, he probably doesn't want the same thing that happened to him to happen to other people! Shocking the population into action is, in my opinion, the only way we can get out of this stupid cycle of "corrupt government"! People are too blind! People don't realize what is going on! Or if they do realize they won't fight for change!
Nowadays people want to live in their blind ignorance! Watching Cristiano Ronaldo play soccer! Politics? Who gives a shit! Science? Who gives a shit! Disasters? Who the hell gives a shit about that shit?! We just want to see a millionaire play with a ball! OMG so good! He is representing our country! Is he? I would rather have our country be represented in the tech department, the health department, the NO FUCKING FIRES department!
If I happen to ever die because of one of this stupid fires, take my corpse and throw it a politician, really, I don't care... I would already be dead! And someone needs to hit those assholes for their dumb people-killing shit! Blame it on me... tell them it was my last dying wish!
In these darkest hours I have just one thing to say:
As long as there is life, there is hope! As long as a heart beats inside our chest, and our brain functions, we can bounce back! Going down is faster than going up, but while we have a beating heart we can still try to go up! But the people that get burned alive because of the lack of forest cleaning, because of not severe enough laws, because of greed! Won't get another chance!
Even my pool got some ashes inside it...

Believe it or not in that photo with the chimney that shiny thing is sun... it was 12:00 when i took the picture! So far, no one died... thank god
That is a passion ridden piece. It is true though, most people have the wrong priorties and turn a blind eye to the things that really matter. It is as if they can't bear to think about them and have a little off switch in their brain, yet their future generations will be the ones that suffer most.

Really, it makes me really worried about the future, people gather around to see someone play soccer, they spend hours arguing what is the best tatic and if someone was a red card or a yellow card... but when they see fires they just say: "Omg, it's so bad" a few times, and that is it...

Under the trees in forest it is too many bush, what can burn well? Or how?
A normally cultivated rural cant burning like this.
Eucalypt trees burn in minutes, they are so inflammable... And once everything burned down they regrow in months!
