The 2 Friends

It's a noisy world.

We are busier than ever.

With the business & noisiness it has been difficult for many of us to build or maintain friendships.

It doesn't help that the older you get, the smaller you circle becomes.

The clearer your vision gets, the small your circle becomes.

How are you supposed to have ANY friends in today's world?

Yesterday, one of my best friends called me out of the blue moon & told me that he was going to be in my city.

He asked if I was free to chill.

I needed to pack for a drive to West Palm Beach, so I was pretty low on time.

But .... I hadn't seen him in a while.

Sure, why not?

We ended up picking up right where we left off.

Talking about business ideas, what we were currently working on, how far we have come since last year etc.

It felt like we hadn't been separated at all.

I've known this particular friend for 10 + years.

He was the first guy I became cool with when I came to college.

But as of late, we have both have been working towards our vision.

As he is working on establishing his business, he felt it was best that he moved back home for a few months to get things set up.

Which is why nowadays, we rarely see each other.

But when we do see each other? It's as though we never skipped a beat.

You may be wondering why I am telling you this story.

It's for a very specific reason.

Us people with the power up mentality have more in common than you think.

Guarantee that you have lost touch with a lot of your friends.

And unfortunately, you are not cool with many people that you were once tight with.

But at the end of the day, if you 2 were really good friends like you assumed, then a simple meet up every now and then should set the whole energy back on track.

It shouldn't even feel awkward.

If you have a friend like that, then you are better off than you think.

The more you hustle towards your goals, the smaller your circle is going to become.

But as many depart, a few will remain.

The few that remain are your ride or die homie's.

They will be the ones who will drop anything when shit really goes down.

And those are the homie's that you need to always keep an eye on.

People confuse the social world as being buddy buddy with everyone.

But that's not needed.

Just have a few buddies & you are Gucci.

These are buddies that you should be able to:

Call to talk about ideas with.

Ask for advice.

Invite to a big occasion.

If you have a friend like that, then you are on the right path in your social journey.

Now take the active approach & hit them up every now & then like my friend did with me yesterday.

You 2 will be tackling many more of life's chapters together.
