Psychology is a crazy thing, often misunderstood and abhorred. However, in reality, it is quite interesting. Here are some of the most interesting psychology phenomena that everyone should be aware of:
If you are engaged in a conversation with someone and you speak intently with the person and at the same time you hand the person something (any object), in more than 90 percent of the cases the other person will take it.
People perceive gain and loss unequally and a loss has nearly twice as much impact on a person as a gain of same worth. And people really take unnecessary risks to avoid loss.
If you meet someone with real happiness and excitement, they will react the same to you. It may not always happen the first time, but it will definitely happen the second time.
We always tend to hate people who we perceive to have the same flaws that we have and who make the same mistakes as we do.
Everyone thinks they would help others if something bad happens but in reality the more people there are, the less someone is going to help. This is also called the Bystander Effect.
