Finally the result... My fear became the truth....
Today was finally my visit to the hospital for the result of the birthmark they removed. My fear came true, it is indeed a melanoma... It came as a shock but on the other end I had taken that into account. But of course you hope for the best.
The doctor told me it is a category 2 melanoma, which means it is a second stage skin cancer. She told me that stage one has a measure of maximum 0.8 mm and mine was 1.1 mm. For the hospital that means a different protocol. I listened to her but didn't really understood what she was saying because I still was processing the news....
Although the news was worse then I hoped for she did tell me some comforting things like the treatment and that the melanoma was not very regressive. Next monday I have a appointment at the surgeon to discuss the treatment. The way things look now I get a lymph node research and they remove the one who is in direct contact with the spot where the melanoma was at. After that they remove a bigger part of the space where it was, just to be sure.
Although I am and will be positive, this whipes the bottom underneith your feet.. But we will fight and conquer this, together with my wife and kids..

Sorry to hear this, can't be easy processing but on the upside at least you've caught it early.

Thank you very much. I didn't had any real sympthoms in feeling sick or so. My son discovered a strange looking birthmark on my back and pointed it out to me on which I decided to visit the docter.
Damn, that's harsh... 😮

Thank you very much Melinda. It is unreal..but the truth indeed. We keep positive. This morning we went to the hospital, with in two weeks I will get surgery to see if there is any more exposure, I am sure we are gonna beat this... thanks again and big hugs back..

Sorry to hear about your condition.
I know of first hand how hard the melanoma and some cancers could be. Just hope in your case the identification was on early stage cause it will for sure be more easily eradicated.

Man, that sucks! Always a shock to get that kind of news I think.. But luckily it doesn't look that bad , I mean that it's the worst stage and not treatable.. Hope it will all work out fine <3
I have to go to my gynecologist tonight as they did a pap test (I know in Holland its called pap but not sure in English haha) and although it was a standard thing they do when prescribing birth control I'm still worried and a bit freaked out for the result..

Thanks for asking, yes, luckily everything was fine. I was very nervous to get the results though. I have a few of these weird "birthmarks" but also some other things that I can't really define as birthmarks which have made me worried during the years. Let the doctor check it once in Holland when she said it looked fine probably, but never went to a dermatologist. Maybe I should do that one day though, as my aunt also had a melanoma..
I hope everything will be removed in your case, and the 10 days will fly by, as I understand it must be killing to wait for that. Sending good vibes your way! And please keep us posted, hopefully with a good result ;)
