The boy continued to glance this way and that, avoiding eye contact. The people once again became shapes that moved through a liquid sea of colors. Thoughts of the boy and the perils of man loosened and drifted away. The city became an abstract painting, open to interpretation. He heard voices unspoken, the chorus of sounds speaking to him. He had tuned in to their channel, once again.
“You’re getting better at finding this place.”
He smiled.
“You know they’ll think you are crazy right now, smiling out into space, you don’t care?”
He did not.
