Vegetarians - Saving the Planet, or Terrible Buttheads?

in #life6 years ago

There are plenty of reasons that a person might decide to become a vegetarian: some want to get healthier, some want to lose weight, and some want to save the animals.

But are any of them even remotely tolerable to be around?

I understand that our reliance on the meat industry is pushing tons and tons of cow farting, mother fucking methane into the atmosphere and heating up our little planet like a dirty pair of whitey-tighties in the VA Center Sauna. And I get that animals are people too (they aren’t, that’s a joke, asshole.) But I will give you the way we slaughter those poor dumb animals is usually pretty horrific.

But do vegetarians have to be so horrible to talk to and have a meal with and generally have a meal with?

They’re preference (or lack of) for meat always seems to find it’s way into conversation, and when you’re dating one, every fucking meal is a discussion about the veggie options any given place has. I mean it’s hard enough to get my girl to pick a place to eat, but then for 4 random days out of the week we also have to consider the amount of non meat options that are also GOOD?!?! I mean seriously, you know what makes a meal good most of the time? The freakin’ meat.

So you tell me. Insensitive prick who doesn’t care about the world? Or are you with me, that it’d be a lot easier to be around them if they didn’t need to make it my damn problem all the time.

Also, though: the impossible burger is freaking delicious. If they can do that with all meat products, we just might have something to talk about.

@writesbackwards vegetarians are more healthier than people that eat meats and all sort of foods. Plants and vegetables contains lots of minerals and salt and most of the food classes that our body needs to function properly.

Very colourful and health sweet

I think we should consume both of these foods because these foods category have their own benefits such as vegetables are composed of fiber and anti-oxidants that prevents us from free radicals and reduce threats of cancer but meat is awesome source of protein that is essential for our body structure and to maintain energy level but thanks @writesbackwards for this great article keep it up.

vegetables contain those essential mineral and vitamins that are present in meat.
But if we see on other side meat fulfill our protein requirement those cannot fulfill vegetables. vegetables play a main rule in our health due to vitamins and minerals.
Thanks @writesbackwards for sharing this healthful topic on steemit.

Eating meat also has its benefits... I agree we should all eat less of it, but I feel this vegetarian thing is getting out of hand.

I think being a vegetarian to some people is just like owning a Tesla they can't help but bring it into the conversation.

There’s no health benefit, at all, to eating animal fat. It should come as no surprise that when one removes it from their diet, they will also remove the detrimental effects it has on their health life. Thanks for the great post @writesbackwards

need a little bit of give an take on both sides

@writesbackwards somehow meet is important also for health it contain iron which is very good for some illness in any person but no one can deny the importance of vegitables

Arguably the most attention grabbing headline I've ever read on steemit! Perhaps I need to include the term "butthead" in more of my posts..........

I was a vegetarian for about 18 years. I started when i was 7, a decision that was entirely mine (neither of my parents or any of my immediate family/friends were vegetarian), I just felt that I didn't want to kill another living thing when i didn't need to but i also never felt the need to force my choice on others.

Back in those days of course there weren't any specialist veggie meals, meat-free lamb chops or restaurants catering for your every desire. A veggie option? You're having a laugh! You can have chips with an extra portion of chips. I think part of the problem with your present day "buttheads" is that they've been spoilt and that in catering for their "needs" restaurants have given vegetarians the impression that everyone gives a crap.
