El Hatillo: celebrating - celebrando - feiernd [English - Español - Deutsch]

The place where I live is south of the city of Caracas and was formerly the town that linked Caracas with the valleys of Tuy. Nowadays it is already part of the capital, but it continues to maintain its spirit of a village. The name of this town is El Hatillo and was declared a National Heritage for its architecture that still retains much of the colonial era. The most important construction, since its founding in 1784, is the Saint Rosalia of Palermo Church, located in the center of town, just in front of the Plaza Bolívar.
El lugar donde yo vivo está al sur de la ciudad de Caracas y antiguamente era el pueblo que unía a Caracas con los valles del Tuy. Hoy en día ya forma parte de la capital, pero sigue manteniendo su espíritu de pueblo. El nombre de este pueblo es El Hatillo y fue declarado Patrimonio Nacional por su arquitectura que aún conserva mucho de la época colonial. La construcción más importante, desde su fundación en 1784, es la Iglesia Santa Rosalía de Palermo, ubicada en el centro del pueblo, justo al frente de la Plaza Bolívar.
Der Ort, an dem ich lebe, liegt südlich der Stadt Caracas und war früher die Stadt, die Caracas mit den Tälern von Tuy verband. Heutzutage ist es bereits Teil der Hauptstadt, bewahrt aber weiterhin den Geist eines Dorfes. Der Name dieser Stadt ist El Hatillo und wurde wegen ihrer Architektur, die noch immer einen Großteil der Kolonialzeit bewahrt, zum Nationalerbe erklärt. Das wichtigste Bauwerk seit seiner Gründung im Jahr 1784 ist die Kirche der Heiligen Rosalia von Palermo, die sich im Zentrum der Stadt direkt vor der Plaza Bolívar befindet.

In tribute to Saint Rosalia every September 4, celebrations are held in El Hatillo that have become increasingly important and is known as the "Damas Antañonas" (Yesteryears ladies). On that day the streets are filled with personsa dressed in the style of the first years of the twentieth century and cañonera music invades the environment. Also present are the Creole sweets and parades of old cars.
En homenaje a Santa Rosalía cada 4 de septiembre se celebran en El Hatillo unas fiestas que han ido adquiriendo cada vez más importancia y es conocido como las "Damas Antañonas". En ese día las calles se llenan de personsa vestidas al estilo de los primeros años del siglo XX y la música cañonera invade el ambiente. Así mismo se hacen presentes los dulces criollos y los desfiles de carros antiguos.
Zu Ehren der hl. Rosalia finden in El Hatillo jedes Jahr am 4. September Feiern statt, die zunehmend an Bedeutung gewinnen und unter dem Namen "Damas Antañonas" bekannt sind. An diesem Tag sind die Straßen voller Menschen, die im Stil der ersten Jahre des 20. Jahrhunderts gekleidet sind, und Cañonera-Musik dringt in die Umwelt ein. Ebenfalls vorhanden sind die kreolischen Süßigkeiten und Paraden alter Autos.

General Juan Vicente Gómez, who was the dictator who ruled Venezuela from 1908 to 1935, was a very emblematic character, which is why he is always one of the characters present in this type of event. It is he who presides over these parties and is responsible for welcoming attendees.
El general Juan Vicente Gómez, quien fue el dictador que gobernó a Venezuela desde 1908 hasta 1935, era un personaje muy emblemático, razón por la cual siempre es uno de los personajes presentes en este tipo de eventos. Es él quien preside estas fiestas y el encargado de dar la bienvenida a los asistentes.
General Juan Vicente Gómez, der von 1908 bis 1935 als Diktator Venezuelas regierte, war ein sehr emblematischer Charakter, weshalb er immer einer der Charaktere ist, die bei dieser Art von Veranstaltung anwesend sind. Er ist der Vorsitzende dieser Parteien und für die Begrüßung der Teilnehmer verantwortlich.
