THE TREASURE - Poem
There are treasures that
still have not been found,
that lies hidden
deep in the sea,
in some old ship
that a vortex made to be wrecked.
Inhospitable Caverns
with half-buried chests,
jewelry, gold and silver,
the booty coveted by humanity,
material riches,
that go come and go.
But there is a treasure
easier to find,
without expeditions and without digging,
just as valuable, maybe much more,
ubiquitous and constant in adversity,
loyal, supportive, unconditional,
a sincere love,
that, is the friendship.
A faithful friend is a safe haven, the one who finds it has found a treasure. (Book of the Ecclesiastic, 6:14)
