To start an analysis that allows us to interpret this poem in the terms proposed, a certain historical context is necessary and deconstruction will be used as a strategy.

This poem was written by the Venezuelan poet Leoncio Martinez (born in Caracas on December 22, 1888 and died on October 14, 1941). He was a humorist, journalist, playwright, caricaturist, poet, publicist, (very Venezuelan characteristic: to know and do everything, a little) composer of the lyrics of some popular melodies, and promoter of the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Caracas. His work could be appreciated in newspapers such as: * El Cojo Ilustrado * (1908), * La Voz del Pueblo *, * El Nuevo Diario * (1913), * The Magic Lantern, Pizarreos * (1918) and * Estopes * (1923) -1941), weekly magazine of which he was founder. Critic of the dictatorship, he was imprisoned several times by the dictatorship of Gómez and then in the government of López Contreras.

Now, it is convenient to define what in this essay will be understood by deconstruction. For this, what Culler says (1998) will be taken, understanding that this work does not intend to offer or use a rigid posture; but consider the ideas that allow us to carry out the study we are looking for:

Since deconstructive criticism is not the application of philosophical lessons to literary studies, but an investigation of textual logic in so-called literary texts, its possibilities vary, and commentators are inevitably drawn to draw lines to separate the orthodox deconstructive critique of its distortions or limitations and illicit derivations. (p.197)

It is not intended here, then, to apply philosophical lessons or theoretical orthodoxies or less illicit distortions; but simply, make a textual investigation of a literary text. As understood by deconstruction Cristina de Peretti:

Derrida proposes, first of all, to show the impossibility, the radical error that all ideal will of system supposes; rejects any kind of centrality, of fixity. To the punctuality and continuity of the theme, to the coagulation of the concept, Derrida opposes the scattered play of the text, the multiple dynamic condensation of the beam, of the tissue (Peretti, 1989: p.14)

In this way, the exercise that is going to be attempted here is a game, a strategy to confront Martínez's text, separating it and taking from it those significant passages evidencing the idea proposed here: the poetic text is a sign of disenchantment of the poet, who is also Venezuelan and the validity of the poem, whose meaning has not lost its value at this time; If not the opposite.
