The Asian Olympic Council (COA) and the Federation of Asian Electronic Sports (FEEA) have confirmed the inclusion of League of Legends, Arena of Valor, Clash Royale, Pro Evolution Soccer, Hearthstone and StarCraft 2 between the demo competitions of the 2018 Asian Olympic Games. The games take place from August 18 to September 2 in Jakarta and Palembang. The criteria for choosing the games took into account the fair play and non-violence of the modalities, as well as the impact caused to the fans around the world by each one of the modalities.

With the demonstration competition taking place in 2018, the modalities can join the already established traditional official competitions of the Games in 2022, in the next edition, which takes place in Hangzhou, China.

"We are grateful for the recognition of the COA and FEEA," said Cheng Wu, vice president of Tencent Group, the developer of the Arena of Valor game, as well as a holding company that owns League of Legends producer Riot Games and Clash Royale's Supercell.
