Easy Rider Bangkok Thailand
Riding side saddle, one-handed, no helmet, in flipflops; this calm lady is not special in Bangkok traffic. When I first got here two years ago, watching traffic kept my heart in my throat. Now, after seeing this common scene constantly, I do not give it a second thought.
I have not traveled by motorcycle taxi and I do not think I will, but it is remarkably trouble free. Many people take public transportation to major corners and them hop onto a bike where drivers wait to pick them up. Motorcycles are the quickest way to go in traffic, cheaper than car taxis, and can access the small sois where larger vehicles cannot fit.
On this day, I was attempting to get the scene across the street and never succeeded in getting a clear shot. This passing motorcycle taxi was a lucky shot.
