Love The Clouds Contest #47 - Chicago Clouds

Here's a few Chicago clouds for this #lovetheclouds contest by @tobetada

I caught this sunset with misty clouds during the super cold polar vortex last winter. The Chicago river froze over and ice crystals with wispy clouds in the air created a nice diffuser for the sunset. My fingers froze really bad taking this shot.

Here's an early spring shot where it had just finished raining around sunset. The mist in the air created a few interesting rays.

This one was taken a bit after St. Patrick's day and the river was still a bit green from the city dying it green in celebration. They go all out every year and use an organic green dye to turn the river an almost neon green color. The bars are open 24/7 around this time as well lol.

Here's an early morning shot I took this summer. The buildings look ominous against the nice blue cloudy sky.

Here's a standard foggy day in the city where clouds roll in off lake Michigan into the city and start swallowing up the skyscrapers.

Here's a bonus sunset shot off of lake Michigan. The clouds created a tiny sundog effect where there are two bright spots in the sky.

And the grand finale, a sunrise shot of the clouds off lake Michigan.
