Still with her tear soaked face and sad countenance, she said she couldn't pick her parents because they have their life and they can't live forever. She said a day would come that the son would leave her and her husband alone to go on his quest to be a man and raise a home too, and she will be left alone with her husband. He has been an ever present figure and will still be when all leaves or walk out.
This is what i always tell people, and the tune of my posts for a while now, marriage is a lot of hard work, requires a lot of loyalty, dedication and sacrifice. It doesn't mean her son isn't important or her parents, but what this means is, she understands the place for loyalty. I have read of several instances where a woman clinched to her child and neglected her husband and the same shouldn't be done by the husband against the wife. Yes, love your child, but never forget the lady you have been with, never forget the man you pledged your loyalty to. Love should never grow old. Love only grow old when we let it.
Love needs to be constantly refreshed when the glow seem to be going out. This is why the reason you decided to pick your partner matters and that what will stand the true test for a foreseeable future. Marriage is a personal business, you face your partner and build with him or her.
Loyalty is needed in marriage. Once you don't look for an escape route anytime argument arises, then you will be fine. You need to know in marriage, your first priority is your husband, or your wife. Your loyalty is to your partner and you don't negotiate that.
I always tell people, relationship requires a lot of hard work and if you are not ready for it, don't sign up for it yet. There is no denying the fact that the woman mentioned above found herself making the toughest decision anyone could only imagine, but she understood the place of loyalty.
