"Gone To Seed"
Most (not all) of the bee balm has gone to seed in my garden. I think this particular variety is “Jacob Cline” or “Raspberry Wine” but I’m not 100% certain on either one. With all the rain, I didn’t get to see any hummingbirds visit but there is always next year as bee balm is a perennial. It does look like there is a second flowering coming through so I may collect some of the flower petals. They have a variety of uses for internal and external use. They can be used fresh or dried so maybe it’s time I had my daughter use that dehydrator she got for Christmas! I did a previous short post on bee balm that you can see here if you’re interested!
These next two photos show just a few petals still on the head.
This last photo shows the flower while it still had most of the petals and is to give you an idea of the pretty color when in bloom.
Thanks @pixresteemer!! 😊
