Macro Photography - The Little Blue Fowers

in #macrophotography6 years ago (edited)

Hello Dear Stemians ...

This is my entry for this week Juliank's macrophotography contest ...

As I have pointed out in other occasions here in Steemit ... the original definition of macro photography is not what we normally fullfill when taking what we call a macrophotography ..

when the times of photography films a macrophotography was when the size of the object recorded on the film was the same size or bigger than the size of the real object, in this case is easy to imagine this cause you can see directly the size of the image in the negative ...

now we have digital sensors in our cameras but the concept is the same , so the size of the object recorded on the sensor is the same size or bigger than the real object...

this normally requires macro lenses that could allow us to get the object into focus when we are very very close to it ...

sometimes one of the troubles we find when doing this is the shadows that produce the camera itself over the object, this is the reason there are special lighting for this kind of photgraphy, for instance the ring light, this lights are very nice cause can illuminate subjects evenly...

light rings allow us to get very close to the object because they are set around the lens ...

So special lenses and special lights mean that this could be expensive and in fact it is ...

However we normally can take photographies setting the lens at about 20 or 30 cm from the object and although it does not fullfil the requirement about the size of the image on the sensor most people call this macro photography anyway and let me tell you those photographs after digital zooming in can look very nice ....

I am showing you one of those photographs, with this lens (Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 Macro Lens) I can reach a magnification of 0,5 X , meaning half the size of the real object ...

Real macro photography can be really amazing for exploring things otherwise invisible to the naked eye and I promise to post my photographs in here if someday I manage to buy the proper equipment. I guess I will need a lot of upvotes for that haha ...

I hope you like this post and keep taking those close up shots even they aren't true macro photograps...
