Will anyone pick up Billy Graham's torch? A large void is left by the Death of Billy Graham. The Christian Church has no leadership.

Yesteryear... Charles Haden Spurgeon, Martin Luther, John Wesley, George Whitfield, Jonathan Edwards, John Knox, John Calvin, John Wycliffe and Billy Sunday were some of the greatest evangelists in history. They came before Billy Graham. But Billy Graham surpassed them in numbers preached to. It can be successfully argued that all of them had a greater impact on the Church than Billy Graham. I think that is true too, but Billy Graham's impact was huge in how he reached the masses. He preached to more than all the men on the list combined and that is meaningful beyond measure. Billy Graham wasn't trying to be a scholar like many of the others were. Billy Graham is brutally criticized for how broad his audience was. People fail to realize that there is a huge difference between a Pastor and an Evangelist. A Pastor he is the one who teaches doctrine, how to live a godly life... etc... An Evangelist is screaming from the rooftops Jesus Saves!!! Jesus Saves!!! Jesus Saves!!! He is not worried about the clothing anyone is wearing, who is sleeping with who, if you drink, if you do drugs, or any number of other sins...
An Evangelist is ringing the bell loudly, bringing them in. No one brought people into hear a sermon in greater numbers than Billy Graham. Billy Graham understood better than anyone the role of an Evangelist. An Evangelist is like a Firefighter... Does a Firefighter first put out a fire??? Or do firefighters first run through the house to do everything possible to save everyone inside the burning house? Well the only correct answer is to save the lives of people in the house first. Billy Graham knew he had to get his audience to realize their house was on fire and Jesus was the water of life that would quench the fire burning down the house. He showed people that they needed Jesus, and how to find him. The problem with all the people who are trashing Billy Graham is they are clueless on the different roles of a Pastor and an Evangelist. A Pastors role is mainly to feed the flock, (a body of saved people) to teach them doctrine, how to live a godly life. When a man is on fire all you care about is putting out the fire not telling him he needs to quit drinking, he needs to stop sleeping around. Many Christians have no clue how to bring a lost soul to Jesus. Before you decided to tar and feather the legacy of Billy Graham please watch my video. https://www.bitchute.com/video/cw8j3jvQ8sPB/

I recently listened to a commentator who was distraught at the number of preachers actively seeking celebrity in Christ's name. There are thousands of preachers on Youtube and Vimeo along with enumerable weekly podcasts. Many churches put on a Sunday rock show and engage in outrageous antics to get attention.

This commentator's opinion was that Christianity should be about Christ and not weekly ratings.

The commentator, of course, had a show that was kicked off the local radio when he began questioning the preach Christ's name for fame industry.

The reason I mentioned this is that perhaps we don't need another super celebrity preacher ... but need people at large who discuss Christian ideals.

I understand your point... completely, but I strongly disagree. I think you really missed my point. Maybe you didn't clink the link and watch my video and read my text on bitchute (That is my bitchute channel and I made the video) The world may have thought of Billy Graham as a celebrity... The Church did not see Billy Graham as a celebrity and Billy Graham never thought of himself as a celebrity. Billy Graham died when he was 99 and was an Evangelist for over 60 years. He filled Football stadiums and he preached amazing sermons that reached people... Yes we can use that today. In my opinion it is crazy to suggest we don't need an Evangelist who fills Football stadiums full of tens of thousands of souls, with thousands being saved at each meeting. You actually prove one of the points I made that people don't give Billy Graham the credit he deserves. The USA has taken a steep nose dive since we had great Evangelists. And Billy Graham was an amazing preacher. He is missed. It is a sad thing that there is no one filling the void he left.
