Magic the Gathering (MTG) Tech Talk - Ilharg, the Raze-Boar

With MagicFest Sao Paulo, Yokohama & Mythic Championship around the corner on top of Prerelease War of the Spark let's look at a new card that could fit into a existing modern deck

What existing modern deck would want this type of card?

Because our new card is a legendary creature, this card can reanimated by Goryo's Vengeance in you can potentially set up a one shot kill from out of nowhere. How do you do it?

Turn 1 Faithless Looting discarding the Ilharg & one other card to reanimate the next turn or Lightning Axe discarding Ilharg to kill a creature while setting up your next turn

Turn 2 Goryo's Vengeance targeting Ilharg. Because it will have haste, you can attack with it & with its effect, you can either putting Worldspine Wurm, Emrakul, the Aeon's Torn or Borborygmos Enraged onto the battlefield where you put either 13 or more damage within a single turn.

Now just imagine if you were on the draw & you have a Gemstone Cavern in your opening hand & you able to pull this off on your 1st turn with the uses of Desperate Ritual & Manamorphose. Don't expect too much of this scenario to happen

Another thing to note about this card is that it is immune to exile effects while it is on the battlefield as if it ever dies or put into the exile zone from the battlefield, the card goes to the third from the top so if you Path to Exile this card, it will end really horrible for you as they will first search their library for a basic land & then put Ilharg into the library 3rd from the top in which will just accelerate them to recast later.

Also do not try to use Ixalan's Binding on this card unless you are only buying time.
