Recreating Recipes From The Internet #6 - Nut bars from www.drcabotcleanse.com
Hey Fellow Steemians,
This recipe we didn't follow to a T as we didn't almond butter and ran out of the amount of nuts needed so we added seeds & poppy seeds.
It broke into just under a crumble which I believe is because we didn't use almond butter, in the recipe it says it can be stored for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container, it didn't last 2 hours everyone enjoyed it so much that a double batch had to be made after 2 hours, which has lasted a few days as we had to substitute in peanuts, which didn't taste as nice.
Fun Peanut Fact
Peanuts are not classed as a nut but as a legume...

The ones we made although leaving and alternating ingredients came out great, but didn't look as amazing as the website.
You may not be doing a cleanse, you maybe looking for healthier options for the lunchbox or for snacks, these are an interesting option for that, remember moderation.
If you have an autoimmune disease you may want to read Dr Cabot book Healing Autoimmune Disease to find out what foods heal and react with autoimmune diseases.
With looking at raw and healthier snack foods to make they can take along time to prepare in the wait time of soaking things over night and or dehydrating, this recipe the Nut Bars didn't need any of that it was really quick to make and ready to eat all under thirty minutes, that includes making, baking and cooling. Very easy for the kids to make also. Everyone liked this one and would add it to our treat snacks once in a while to mix things up.
