One of the last known groups of woolly mammoth died due to lack of drinking water, according to researchers, reportd BBC. Animals from the Ice Age lived on a remote island off the coast of Alaska, and scientists date back to their disappearance occurred before 5600 years. They believe that global warming made lakes in shallow, leaving the animals unable to quench their thirst.

Most woolly mammoths died about 10,500 years. Scientists believe that committed by people hunting and environmental changes have played a role in their disappearance.
But the group lived on the island of St. Paul, located in the Bering Sea has managed to survive another 5,000 years.
