in #manga5 years ago

Hello steemians!
I am RYO!

Chapter14 is completed!

About hints to read manga before

  • Read manga from the right
  • Red word are Japanese. The meaning is written in (※)
  • If you do not understand how to read manga please read the sentences under the picture. It's written in the order of manga

Please enjoy -Jingi-!

Oh, Were you not still faint, pretty tough guy…
Well…Answer the questions…Okay? NMG guys…let me know everything you know about Hikyaku named Toshihiro…

Please wait! Actually we are not NMG!

…What's!?

Please forgive me~!

A…Hey! Don't say that…

Tell me detail more…

That's so scary~~!

Fum…I see…

You've done bad things by borrowing NMG's name…
Fuu…NMG finally had the power to produce such guys

Sorry~

So…These guys…What do?

Well…
All right! I will forgive you guys this time

Really!?

Instead!
Apologize to the villagers and send back the Koban...
And gather information about NMG and Hikyaku named Toshihiro…
Then we will take care of you guys for a while…

Suck…Why do we do that?

Do you have any complaints…?

No I'm nothing…

Well…Let us also resume the search
You should also reflect on this and live in a way that is not embarrassing for "Otent-sama=※God-like being watching people live properly"

A…Wait! Who are you guys?

We are Tokugawa-army
※Monarch of Japanese samurai family who made the Edo period (1603-1867)

Yes!!! I caught a fish!!

Good! Good! "Umai!(旨い)=※delicious"

By the way, We arrived quite early so far…
Maybe we will arrive at the destination "Gozu-tennousha" tomorrow evening!

Yeah

Foo~! it was delicious!

Slightly damp clouds…Let's leave as soon as possible

OK! I put water in the "Hyoutan (※water bottle)"
…Osamurai-san?

Have you ever seen "Gongo"?

Gongo?

Oh, It may not be called "Gongo" here…
Ah…It is a green body.
And It has a plate on the head and a turtle shell...living in the river…and…

Is it that Kappa?(河童) ※Japan's most famous Yōkai

Yes is it!
It was called so here! Kappa! Have you ever seen it?

I have never seen it, but I have heard the story of the person who saw it…But,why?

Am…When I looked at this Hyoutan.
I remembered about Kappa…Because they are not good at Hyoutan

Really? I heard it for the first time

What I have heard is the rice before Buddha-altar…※In Japan, there is a custom of offering rice to the Buddha-altar.
Also they are not good at metal

All I have is a metal of "Hiuchi-ishi"...※Tool made of metal to make a fire

Are you worried?

Actually, I heard that a horse was attacked by a kappa recently…We go along the river to the foot of the mountain, right?
It seems that a human who has been deprived of soul will be a "fool"…

Certainly, I have heard the many stories of people attacked by Kappa…
…But they are also like gods of water and fairies...So if we do not do any harm, they will not do anything...maybe.

…Yeah…Sure! We are not here to do bad things.
There is no problem because we only pass!

Yeah…Anyway Let's get off the mountain before night and stay at the inn

Okay! Let's go!

It began to rain earlier than I thought…

Yeah, Let's get down the mountain early

This is dangerous! If this continues, the water in the river will increase and we will not be able to walk!

Yeah! Let's evacuate somewhere high!
If there is a house somewhere...Nn?
Look! This is probably a trace that weeded the weeds…There may be people above here!

Oh! Certainly that's a trace…

Anyway, Let's climb it!

Is this a small pond…? It looks like a made…

Wait!
Look! Someone is there…

What's? In the rain like this...

Chapter14 is over!

About Japanese culture that appeared in this Chapter

  • Otent-sama

Otent-sama is a perfect form of Japanese spiritual culture.
People in the EDO period lived very freely and security was very good.

Foreigners who visited the EDO period asked Japanese people.
"How do you learn morality even though there is no religion like Christianity in Japan?"

So the old Japanese people hated "dirty act" anyway,
It is very influenced by the spirit of samurai, Because the Samurai value good faith, simplicity and courtesy.

And one more Japanese cherished "Otent-sama"
Otent-sama is a mysterious existence that is the sun, the sky, the nature, and the god.
Japanese have been living with a lot of "invisible things" since long ago, Otent-sama is a symbol of such Japanese spiritual culture.

  • Tokugawa

Tokugawa is the man who made the EDO period.
Tokugawa Family made Japan peaceful for about 250 years after the end of the fierce civil war period in Japan.

The EDO period was a period when it could be said that "the perfect form of Japanese culture", and it was an excellent period in all aspects such as the ecosystem and social system than modern Japan.

Recently, the Edo period system has been attracting attention in France as "the era without economic disparities and no pollution of the global environment"

Tokugawa who created such an era, is a truly great Japanese monarch, but unfortunately he was defeated by the new meiji government.

I can not explain everything in Tokugawa and the EDO period in sentences, so I will gradually explain in manga and supplementary information

And this is a post about the great shrine that Tokugawa loved↓

  • Kappa

Kappa is the most famous Yokai in Japan.
What's Yokai?

Wikipedia
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y%C5%8Dkai

Yōkai (妖怪, ghost, phantom, strange apparition) are a class of supernaturalmonsters, spirits, and demons in Japanese folklore. The word yōkai is made up of the kanji for "bewitching; attractive; calamity"; and "spectre; apparition; mystery; suspicious".[1]They can also be called ayakashi (あやかし), mononoke (物の怪), or mamono (魔物). Yōkairange diversely from the malevolent to the mischievous, or occasionally bring good fortune to those who encounter them.

Yokai are very difficult to explain…
They are not monsters. Close to a fairy or god, but not exactly(In the manga, Takeuchi explains as being a fairy or a god-like existence to explain briefly)

It is said that Yokai do not exist, but too many documents remain in the
Old japan.

Kappa was witnessed throughout Japan and was called by various names↓
Mintsuchi, Medochi, Kabako, Dochirobe, Game, Shirikoboshi, Dongas, Gataro, Enko,
Hyouzunbo, Hejigoro, Suiko, etc…
This is a small part of the record and there are actually many more names.

Michael Dylan Foster of Stanford University is famous for English yokai research.

Kappa's story continues, so I will add information again!

Thank you for reading!
Arigatou gozaimashita!

Looks like you have put a lot of time and effort in this work @ryo-6414!
It looks very good. I guess I need to start with the first chapter before making a comment about the content of this chapter :D
But based on the drawings and background information, congrats! Looks fabulous!

Yeah, I started -Jingi- work last summer!
I really spent a lot of time but I enjoy it so much😃
I think -Jingi- is not so long yet so easy to follow, please your enjoy!
Thank you!😊

I definitely will :) Thanks @ryo-6414!

Aaaah another great chapter. I wonder if it's truly kappa that they've seen, maybe someone in a mask? I guess we will find out in the next chapter :D.

You are pretty good at moving the story along, ryo-san, and I also like the extra info that you wrote after the comic pages. Grats for the curie vote :).

I love yokai, so I wanted to draw a story about them.
I'm going to dig deeper into Kappa's story, Please look forward to😉

I want to know more about my beloved Japanese culture, so I have some information😃
Thank you for reading always!!👏

And I also have played the Ninja gaidenⅡ a little but it was very difficult😂😆

Posted using Partiko Android

Ahh yes, it's a difficult game and requires some time and effort in executing the combos well. But when I play it well, it is an exhilarating feeling because I feel I'm a Class S ninja ^_^.

Yeah, I have only a little memory of it, but I think it had a combo like a Onimusha! It is indeed very exhilarating!
I watch youtube videos after a long time😆

I like your art because you draw the art of characters from my nostalgic memories!😉

I'm glad if you like my post!

Yeah, It is OK! No problem!
I look forward to it!😃

Oh nice. No yokai aren't monsters but from what I've been seeing and reading they're more like demons or bad spirits.

It's great you're sharing this with us. Haha. Are you hoping to get a bigger audience/followers via Steemit? Any plans to sell these in the future too?

Thank you😉
Yeah, Because there are various kinds of Yokai, there are certainly horrible beings…But I will draw on their mysterious and friendly side😃

Sales? In other words, "the post of steemit"? If so I will continue it!
Yeah, I hope the reader will increase in the future…but It will need to be accompanied by my ability

Posted using Partiko Android

Not the post in Steemit, eventually outside. I guess it's not part of your plan then. 😄

I do not currently plan on selling outside…

About manga, In fact I have very few clear visions…😅

Posted using Partiko Android

That's fine. We all start somewhere. 😄

Posted using Partiko Android

Ok, I do not know because whenever I read something related to Japan it makes me so anxious, I love Japanese culture and I love knowing everything about it. I found this chapter interesting, I will see if I can read all the chapters, greetings!

I'm thinking about drawing as much as possible about "truth Japanese culture"…
I hope my manga helps you to know Japan! Thank you for reading!😊
