Yo no se mucho de mariposas, solo se que son hermosas y son insectos holometalobos voladores, existe una variedad inmensa y esta de la foto es si no me equivoco una mariposa caligo, o mariposa búho como se conoce comúnmente, se les dice así por los ocelos que tienen en sus alas que asemejan ojos para distraer a sus depredadores, estas mariposas pueden crecer bastante y medir hasta 15 cm y se alimentan de frutas y hojas. habitan en los bosques de toda américa central y del sur.
