A pear in a bottle

The great thing about certain desserts is that they keep well and can become products to sell at the market. So these pears, in bottles, poached in chardonnay and spices will be available at tomorrow’s pop-up market.

This reminds of a time about a decade ago when I traveled to Alabama for a family gathering and wedding.. someone brought homemade peach and pear moonshine to pass around- they had the peaches and pears in the mason jars. It was so good and smooth!

Ha! That moonshine, made with peaches would be called "mampoer" in South Africa. Pronounced phonetically mum - poo-rrr (that's a short "oo" like "book". The grape equivalent is "witblitz". The distiller's skill would determine the smoothness. LOL

First of all, I want to thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday!!

The thing about every single one of your post is that yours are so carefully crafted and the pictures are always amazing. Artistically it's gorgeous! The way you create and display you are food items makes it so even if you didn't like fruit oh, you would have to have some just because you make it look so good.

The poached pears in Chardonnay look absolutely delectable! Yes, please!! I would love some! The fact that the soaks up the alcohol makes it just a little bit more enticing!
