Market Friday - shopping for shoes 👠 👞 👟
This is my contribution to #marketfriday challenge hosted by the lovely @dswigle.
Today we went to Burlington. For those who don’t know what is that, well... it is a huge discount store, Burlington Coat Factory. They have very few coats... lol... but a lot of other stuff, from socks to jewelry and gourmet grocery.
So, my daughter and I were looking for some sandals. They have hundreds and hundreds of pairs!
I was trying to take pictures when nobody was between the racks, so it was kind of difficult, as the store was packed of shopping customers, trying shoes on.
How many shoes a person can have? I have a few pairs myself, maybe 6 or so, and I think it is too much. My daughter has a full closet, I think she is crazy. But all young girls are like that. It is the trend I guess.
I picked up some sandals. I saw many people pushing carts full of various merchandise, and I swear I saw shoe boxes in almost every shopping cart. What is going on?
A proverb came in my mind: I complained that I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.
Guess what? I put those sandals back on the rack and I left. I don’t need another pair of shoes. That’s vanity. I am grateful that I have feet, and I have health, and I can walk and be free.
Ha! I have one pair and it does everything, mountain climbing, water walks, beach duty, dirt roads, mud, preaching and so much more.
Trouble is that most of the shoes here are imported from China and not only don't they make wide fit shoes, or my size, I also don't like the modern fake leather shoes.
I think Marian also has only one pair.

That’s a lot of shoes to look over and maybe but a pair or two. We don’t need all the shoes we think we do. I like the proverb, it puts shoes in perspective. 😊
Truth!!! I loved your thoughts on the shoes. And I see people every single day buying, buying, buying... I weed my closets on a monthly basis. (no really!!!) and each time I go through them, I find something else.. I haven't used or no longer fits.
I have a thing I do when I am aimlessly shopping, I put in the cart what catches my eye or ai may want. Then before I leave, I put it all back and leave empty-handed.
I have found that curbs my need to shop. LOL Thank you for your participation!
