'Currumbin Sanctuary Souvenir Shop.'

(This is my entry for this weeks Market Friday challenge hosted by my friend @dswigle)

Some time ago I created a blog about the amazing, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in Queensland but this post is all about finding Aussie themed treasures at the gift shop on site.

If you'd like to view my previous post about the animals, birds and scenery etc at the park click here:

This one was like all other souvenir Shops with a wide range of paraphernalia available. Momentos of all sizes and shapes with which to remind visitors of their time spent at this very special place or tangible items to provide gifts for friends and family members.

For this post I am concenrating on all things cuddly, such as these colourful macaws.

This is the entry to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. The gift shop is not far from here.

Naturally, one of Australia's most iconic animals is available to take home.........minus the eucalyptus leaves. Here is an adorable Koala Mother and Baby duo ready to slip into your back pack.

If you're not familiar with Tasmanian devils here is a trio of them waiting to be picked up and taken home. These innocent looking Tasmanian Devils represent Australia's largest living marsupials. Once upon a time, they lived on the mainland, but these days are only found in Tasmania, Australia's most southern state.

These nocturnal animals are genrally shy and day time sightings are understandably rare, so all the more reason to purchase one that can be played will all day long........and they won't bite you either, I promise.

Looking sheepish are these lovely stuffed toys. I looked everywhere for the proverbial black sheep but there were none to be seen. There are large white ones or smaller versions to chose from, depending on individual requirements.

And this gorgeous butterfly with the sparking purple irises would be any little girls dream to snuggle up to at night before going to sleep. It comes with a written guarantee that it will not fly away to another home but remain with the original owner forever. (Well, perhaps I made that up.......but then I'm allowed to, because I'm writing the story.)

If you're not sure what to buy, you can't go past these charming little bilbies. These unusual marsupials are classed as a vulnerable species in Australia so stop them from becoming extinct altogether and buy one for yourself and two more to give away.

One group of animals I'd never categorize as 'cuddly' is our crocodiles. Quite the opposite in fact, but for all the future crocodile hunters out there, these begnign looking crocs are just the ticket. You won't need to build a fence to keep them in your yard because, they too come with a guarantee not to run away.......or bite. So, don't hesitate, fill your suitcase with a crocodile toy to provide hours of fun and enjoyment for your toddler/s.

I will round off this Market Friday blog the way I began.......with two colourful parrots. Baby ones are located on the bottom shelf so if you don't have room for a big one, two little ones will be the way to go.

(Disclaimer: I am not employed by the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Souvenir Shop and in no way do I receive discounts or free entry into this amazing place by endorsing the above products. I did it all for fun.)

THANK YOU FOR VIEWING. HAVE A GREAT DAY.

This is a lovely shop, Trudee. I would buy so many things. My son is a big fan of Taz, the funny Tasmanian devil. 🙂
Thank you for sharing these cool photos.

Thank you @roxy-cat The shop had a huge variety of items but these toys were my pick for the day. Tasnmanian devils are very unique and make a change fom teddy bears I suppose. (lol)

So cute all of them, I love the little rat for some reason.

Hello @sunscape I'm glad you enjoyed viewing these cute little Aussie animals. Toy rats have a lot more appeal than the real ones in think. (lol) Thanks so much for your welcome visit.

Your welcome, it was such a cute post for sure.

One part that I like in this challenge is that it's innovative, every week there are unusual posts with topics that no one has ever thought of. So is your blog. I liked it a lot, thank you!

You're very kind @bluemoon Thanks so much. I'm happy you enjoyed reading this light hearted post. I usually try and catch up on Market Friday blogs even if i don't post one myself as they are always interesting.

With pleasure! I also like to read these posts because they are often unexpected as a topic and show unknown aspects about life in different parts of the world.

So many great toys, great job dear Trudee! Well done!
