It is so sad what people have reduced marriage to. It is sadder to see people have no value and they are only into it for what they stand to gain and not for what they can build. I understand we are all different and I am not casting aspersions but mainly speaking from my own point of view and exposures and I am sure these set of people will have something to say too when asked why they give unrealistic targets in marriage. Marriage is not to be used as leverage or a form of a pact or an arrangement.
Marriage is sacred and it should be established on love and mutual trust. Not like it is bad to have goals and desires but it should involve your partner. This is why I always hammer on reaching a common ground. A lot of people try to use marriage as bait and most ladies take the bite. Before now, guys were the ones pressurizing ladies for marriage, but nowadays, it has flipped and you see ladies get excited when a man promises marriage, regardless of the conditions. They are only interested in becoming a MRS and every other thing can be on hold, even if those things can affect them later in life.
I bring to you another true life story and the lady actually asked for help on what to do, because as it stands, she is in a fix and wants another person’s objective view and I can only hope she will take it. Like I always say, I share these experiences, offer advice and listen to your take on it too so we can all learn together, and perhaps we come across someone with similar experience, we can help them heal and nudge them in the right direction.
There is this lady who is being pressured into giving birth first before the guy would marry her. The man is 20 years older than her and this man sent his other wife packing because she couldn’t give birth to a child. Now, this man has seen a lady who is 20 years younger and a virgin but the condition is, he won’t marry her until she is pregnant. He knows this lady is from a humble background and the only thing putting this lady in a fix is also because she also has this get rich quick mentality. Maybe she feels this is her only way of getting married and also to a rich man. Not all that glitters is gold.

I think marriage requres lessons or some tutors before entering cos people are not ready to build, what people want is tittles (mr or mrs) and child(ren)
The lady should think of future, not now. Its obvious the man want child grom him and nothing more, she should pray to God and he shqll give her all She ever wanted
In the US marriage has been turned into an act of no thought for men with nothing much to lose, who can marry and have kids and gain health insurance out of the deal. For men with something to lose, it is a gamble with less than 50% odds, where you must go almost all in. If you are a man with assets and ever grace a court.... its over for you. For far too many men, marriage has become a bludgeon to beat fear into them, or beat assets out of them.
This is what has cheapened marriage the most, let us not forget that everyone seems to be looking to trade up as well.
Common thread? No one seems to be happy with what they have, or realize what they have.
