Celabrating 17 years of marriage!

Dear Jesus,

On June 9, 2001 you blessed me in a way I could have never imagined. The little red hair girl said, “I do.” My life has never been the same. This journey has gone places I did not expect. The road has had its ups and downs, twists and turns, speed pumps and potholes. We even got lost and gone on the wrong roads a few times.

I have watched her live into her faith and become your child. And because of her love for you, you called me up and out to become a better man. I can not imagine the hole I would be in right now without her and you.

Lord, I receive a lot of accolades because of where you have called me, but she is the one that deserves the recognition. She has quietly stood strong in the background on her knees praying. Her prayers and faith in you have changed me.

You have given me a very precious gift that I have not always handle with the gentleness and care it needs or deserves. I still scratch my head wondering why you trusted me with this gift. I wonder why you would give something so fragile to someone so rough?

I am not always thankful your ways are not my ways, but looking back now these past seventeen years, I would not change a thing. I have a lot of growing still to do and things that need to desperately change in me, but I would not want change without you and her.

Jesus you are my number ONE and your gift has become my number two. Let me step into this journey in boldness that You will hold me up so that I can hold her. Thank You for trusting me and giving me a gift that has trusted You.

Teach me to love like You do, so that I can give her the love she deserves.
