“Did you divorce again?” “你又离婚了吗?”

It is wonderful to be at a wedding ceremony, and that is the “moment” for the wedding couple. Many years ago, I attended a wedding and after the ceremony, I asked a groom his feeling, he responded, “Words cannot express!” Certainly, the couple believe marriage is life-long, they want to be together till one departs the world.

However, it is sad to see the increase of divorces in the world. Quite a number of years ago, I was appointed to be a premarital facilitator of the “Smart Start Pre-marital Course” for those who prepare to get married. It is a government subsidised program. It also shows that the government has taken notice of the increase of divorces. It is an issue to be reckoned and dealt of.

It is alarming that there is a big nation with long civilisation which focuses on family is now facing the issue of divorce. Beside asking one another, “Have you eaten your meal? Are you busy?”, people tend to ask, “Did you divorce again?”

We are living in a vulnerable world and the family value is breaking down, it is time to restore the right value of marriage. Indeed, marriage is life-long. It is a covenant to be honoured and divorce should never be an option taken easily by a married couple. The Chinese have a saying, “One night together as husband and wife is meant to be a lasting relationship (一夜夫妻百日恩).”

“你又离婚了吗?”

参加婚礼可以是很棒的经历，因为那是新婚夫妇的“时刻”。多年前，我问一位刚刚经过婚礼新郎的感受，他回答说，“言语无法形容!” 当然，对于这对新婚夫妇来说，他们相信婚姻是长久的，直到有一方离开这个世界。

如今世界离婚率的上升是令人遗憾的事。好几年前，我受训成为合格的”精明婚前课程”导师，这是一项由政府支助的课程，表明了政府关注离婚的增加，其实这也是一个值得更多人关注的问题。

令人震惊的是，即使是一个以家庭为核心及拥有悠久文明的国家也会面临离婚问题。除了问”你吃过饭了吗？你忙吗?” 如今人们倾向于问，”你又离婚了吗？“

我们生活在一个危机四伏的世代，家庭价值观正在崩溃，如今是时候重新建立正确的婚姻观。婚姻本应是终身的，它是一个应被尊重的契约，离婚永远不应该是已婚夫妇轻易的选择。中国人说：“一夜夫妻百日恩!” 即是指开始了的婚姻乃是一个长久的关系。
