Comfort displayed a great level of maturity by not giving Linda “insult for insult”. When you are able to react in a positive way to negative feedback, then you are really matured. Comfort wielded so well her power of choice. She has the choice to respond however she chose and some would back her up but she decided against exercising that right. You always have the choice to decide however you want to respond to offensive situations in this life.
Comfort displayed a great level of self-control and I would have to admit that. I said earlier that the moment you allow yourself to be dragged to low level then those people who dragged you there will beat you with the experience. If anyone calls you anything negative and you begin to lose your cool, then you have just proved them right. Kill them with maturity, always.
Silence is golden when you cannot think of an answer. You don’t always have to give people a response. You have nothing to lose and you have nothing to gain. You have no statement to prove or anyone to impress. Let them laugh, let them call you a chicken or whatever name they can call you but play the silence card because it would speak louder than any word you could ever manage to utter. It is better to hold your mouth and be thought a fool than to open it and confirm that you are indeed a fool.
I once shared a topic about how people who lash out under little or no provocation battle with so many internal demons and with a little discernment, you can tell they need help rather than confrontations for whatever they have dished out. You don’t throw a baby with the bathwater, rather you learn to clean up and help instead.
Just with a dose of maturity from Comfort, she was able to make a lifetime friend. They could have turned out to be sworn enemies but she won a friend for displaying more class than expected. You have the power to win people over with more maturity.
