For those of us that live in the US, sometimes we forget that although the dollar has shown strength recently vs other fiat currencies, gold in many foreign currencies is totally outperforming.
Put another way, if you had owned gold in Argentina, Turkey, or Venezuela over the past year or so, you would have protected yourself against severe inflation.
