How is everyone doing.

Recently I was going through a set of amazing videos. I wish to share what I learnt from them.

It comes out that there is a connection between mind and body. How we feel is largely dependent on the state of mind and that's how we ultimately behave.
And it seems that we can control the state of our mind by changing the input of the type of music that we hear.

To elaborate, imagine a person who always hears sad songs. How do you think he will behave. Well, I know few people who are fond of hearing sad old songs and they keep on hearing those songs on and on. I see that they are lazy and sluggish.

Now, imagine a person who associates with loud music, rock and roll which is full of passion. These people are very passionate. I am aware that the student community is very fond of this type of music. I can see their restlessness in my class. They find it difficult to concentrate.

I even know people who are fond of hearing chants of vedic mantras, which are considered to be in pure goodness. I was staying with a spiritual organisation for few years almost like a monk. I had access to these recordings and I myself used to hear them. I used feel calmness and energy within me. People who hear these chants are quite, calm and people in goodness.

I would call these music in the modes of ignorance, passion and goodness. These are basically derivatives of three modes of nature.

How to use MUSIC in our favour

We need to do activities which are in different modes, namely ignorance, passion and goodness. You can figure it out. Keep in mind whatever you want to do and you can judge if the activity is in which mode.

To elaborate, sleeping is in the mode of ignorance. Running is in the mode of passion. Alertness is in the mode of Goodness.

Suppose, you are ending your day and found to sleep. Hearing music of low frequency which has less node,tone etc changes can actual help us sleep better. You may ask someone to remove your earphones when you are asleep!! I do not recommend listening to sad songs because our mood changes to sad profile. We start identifying ourselves with the song.

You may hear a passionate music or speech when you have a presentation or so or when you are really pushing the limits or excercising etc.

When you need to focus your attention like attend a meeting, you might consider hearing something cool or gentle , in goodness basically.

I hope you get the point. If we use the musical input, we can overcome the activation energy that it takes to do any work. For example. When I studied, it used to be very difficult to start the studies but once I started, I could study nicely. This method can help us in surpass a useless mindset. For example. If we have to go to the gym and we are feeling lazy. We can conciously hear something in passion. It will help us to get to our feet.

Our mental state contribut s a lot to our a lot to our efficiency in whatever we do. We really need to understand this fact and take control over it, rather than allowing the state to control us.

These things are being researched and science has now begun to appreciate the power of mind and also discover how it can be influenced and controlled.

Great post. I have some of the extremes around me. My daughter always listenign to lively music and running around super-energized and my mother-in-law listening to "romantic" (I call it depressing given her condition) music and being always moody and down.
She refuses to accept that that kind of msic does not help her mood.
At least my daughter still accepts discipline and let us turn her music down or off when she has homework to do. But,i'd rather have her running around cheerfully.
