So long, too soon

A proud assortment of peaks and valleys,
troughs and points impelled
by varyus semblance-stricken heights
a mighty hubris felled.

Said archetype, sad pattern-stone
a-carven by life's stream:
as quickly come, so slow dissolved
the hapless lover-dream.

Of times alone, and starker still
the companied-shadow's brine;
to drive an artist steady-sown
in loam to swall of mine.

Sad ignorance, said negligence
a-stolen day on day—
too slowly roll the hours, O!
So soon the des'prate pray.

The pulse of life cuts valuable diamonds. Rises and declines often cause despair or hopelessness. But, nature is wise and time is perfect. What is happening is what it should be, even if we don't understand it.
Time does not march at our pace, even if we want to, it marches towards the perfection of the instant and whoever wants to be above the decree will fail and crash at the evidence that we cannot control everything.

Sad ignorance, said negligence
a-stolen day on day—
too slowly roll the hours, O!
So soon the des'prate pray.

Slow or fast is what it is and not what we pretend it to be in our arrogance.
The images tell me of falling into a black hole, of vertigo in the fall, of darkness, of lack of north, of little progress.
There is something that is not flowing as the voice waits and makes him feel frustrated, stagnant.

Your weekend posts tend to be more reflective @d-pend,

My paraphrase of Isaiah:

A voice of one calling in the wilderness...

Every mountain should be made low
Every valley should be filled in
Rough ways made smooth
Twisted made straight
Prepare the way

The river flows

Tic

Tock

Sad ignorance, said negligence
a-stolen day on day--
too slowly roll the hours, O!
So soon the des'prate pray.

Wow the verse embodies a kind of emotion that in my opinion comes from dissapointments, to a sudden turn of hope and belief, beautiful piece here really, this is astonishing @d-pend

That part is my favorite part as well although my interpretation of it is not hope but regret and penance .

Well the part was anti-climaxing, if you see my earlier stances

@d-pend,

a mighty hubris felled.

D-spair?

Dan, life is a series of peaks and valleys ... ups and downs and twists and turns. In the valleys, everything looks like an uphill climb. But while the mountain peaks create great vistas ... it's in the valleys where we find life.

It's darkest before the dawn ... but it's that darkness that makes you appreciate the light.

Beautifully written, mate.

Dear @d-pend sir!
Great composing with oxymoron title, indicating life's both aspects gain and loss, endless effort, hope and let down. The stone that feels the waves, comparing life's caravan with waves which is passing through this zig-zag ways in second stanza. Besides its beautiful abstract photography..
