Hell breaks loose at UFC 229. Even when Conor McGregor loses, he wins, sort of. Khabib defends his title but potentially loses in other ways...
Conor McGregor got into Khabib's head even though Conor got mauled, somehow he wins.
Khabib won this fight easily, but he may have lost in another way.
Maybe this was all staged? Maybe, but it looked legit for the most part...
I will quickly summarize the main event of UFC 229.
Khabib Nurmagomedov mauls Conor McGregor for four rounds. Khabib eventually submits Conor with a neck crank.
No surprise here...
Until after the fight.
Right after the fight, despite his total dominate win, Khabib was not satisfied.
As soon as Conor taps, Khabib still looks quite angry and yells some crap at Conor.
Then he angrily walks over to Conor's team and points and yells, even pulls out his mouth piece and chucks it at them.
Still not satisfied Khabib literally jumps over the cage and attacks Dillon Danis, a high level jiu-jitsu practitioner (also a Bellator fighter) and Conor's friend/coach.
Khabib actually seemed to get his hands on Danis for a second until all hell broke loose and people started pushing and shoving and fighting. A mosh pit basically.
During the moments of chaos outside of the cage, more chaos erupted INSIDE the cage.
Khabib's people actually come up from behind Conor and punch him hard upside the head.
More chaos ensues.
Finally after everything is calm Dana White decides to not put the belt on Khabib after everything because he suspects the arena will go nuts and start throwing crap in the cage. So Khabib left and people indeed threw crap at Khabib as he left.
Despite the win the crowd was not a fan of Khabib's actions. Perhaps rightfully so...
Perhaps not. I don't hate Khabib for what he did. Not cool but not really all that bad. It's understandable at the very least.
Conor threw that dolley at the bus. Conor talked a bunch of crap. Like a BUNCH. Khabib was pissed.
Commentators speculated that Khabib could actually be suspended for his actions.
Wow.
Could they really suspend Khabib for that? It is assault technically.
Messy.
That's kind of funny isn't it? Despite beating the UFC's poster boy in DOMINATE fashion Khabib may end up being suspended anyway.
Khabib beat Conor but he may have lost in a weird way.
All because of Conor's shit talking.
They never even put the belt on Khabib in the octagon. Not that big of a deal but it does dim the shine of his moment even more, not that the moment needed more dimming after all of that chaos. Also it will add to what the always smart mouthed McGregor can say.
Sheesh what a night!!
I'm not really trying to take sides here. I really admire Khabib and his skills. I'm a former wrestler myself and to watch Khabib be THAT smothering and dominant as a wrestler sends chills down my spine because it is so scary to watch. Conor was totally lost.
I am just here for the entertainment of it all.
It's very interesting overall. It's all so fresh but I mean wow.
This crap talking game has pretty much hit new heights.
Historic night for the MMA world. I didn't necessarily say good, but historic.

"THE EAGLE" DESTROYED McGREGOR. Conner has a gift of being able to get under your skin. He gets under mine. I was delighted to see him get his ass kicked. Titans should be able to put another game in the win column. They are a 5.5 point favorite. Hope they stay hungry and do not play to the level of the competition. They are on the road and that is always a huge challange. At least this game is early in the season and the weather looks reasonable, no snow in sight.

I almost want to say Conor was trying to prod him into doing something stupid like that, but maybe I'm giving him to much credit. Wouldn't be the first time he won by losing though. Remember the stacks of cash he few home with after the Mayweather fight? I'd call that a win. lol. But who knows. Either way, Khabib's actions, along with his team's were unacceptable.
Dana White is speaking at the post fight press conference and apparently Khabib's purse (earnings from the fight) is being withheld! Pretty crazy.
I'll bet he's REALLY pissed now. Lol!

Right? Conor provoking Khabib into flipping out did cross my mind too, but then that would be kind of next level genius crap so thats hard to see being true unless there would be like hard evidence lol. Hell yes he made BANK versus Mayweather so thats definitely a W right there.
I agree Khabib and his team behaved badly, I just can't say I'm surprised after the bus incident and allllll of Conor's intense trash talk lol. So it is what it is I'm just gonna keep watching this play out and eating my popcorn LOL.
I do wonder what/if anything happens to Khabib after this. I'm curious lol
