TITO ORTIZ (19 - 12 ) vs. CHUCK LIDDELL ( 21 - 8 )

Oscar De La Hoya has long teased about trying his hand at promoting MMA and it looks like he is going ahead with those plans. He has signed two big names that will headline his first event. Liddell who has been retired since 2009 after suffering a string of KO loses and Tito who retired in 2017 after his win vs. Chael Sonnen at Bellator 170.

These two MMA stars have been long time rivals and already faced each other two times with Chuck Liddell winning both bouts. Will Tito finally get a win over the " Iceman" Chuck Liddell or will he suffer another TKO/KO loss ? The event still doesn't have an official date or venue yet but its expected to be announced in the upcoming days.

"I'm proud to announce we've signed a deal for the fight between Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz," De La Hoya said in a statement to ESPN. "This will be huge for sports fans around the world. Ortiz and Liddell are two of the most recognized fighters in MMA history. They are legends in the sport.

I hope those guys aren't doing this because they need the money. MMA is a young man's game, and these guys aren't young men anymore. Chuck had Tito's number when they were in their primes. Both fighters are in their 40's now and Tito is about 5 years younger than Chuck. We'll see if that gives him an advantage.

Tito been more active as well. His last fight was a little over a year ago as apposed to Chuck's last fight which was in 2010. I have no problem with their age as both are from the same era and fighting each other and not some up and come. What is troubling to me is Tito's body is all banged up and Chuck suffered a series of KO's before retiring.

Chuck was forced into retirement in 2010 and given a " job " by Dana. The owners then sold UFC to WME who cut back where they could to save on money. Chuck's " job " was one of the first things to go. So while he may not need the money, I doubt he can find anything that will pay him as well as UFC did without fighting.

They both made a lot of money in their younger years. I hope they invested well and didn't squander it, but the odds are against it.

They certainly did make allot of money but at the same time they were reaching the tail ends of their careers with the UFC when the real big money started being paid to the top fighters. Something tells me Tito was a little more careful with his money then Chuck was but that's just a gut feeling.

Tito made $300,000 for his last fight against Chael Sonnen which was last year.

loved Oscar as a boxer but is a dog shit promoter he will literally promote anything that has a bit of life in it. Not just him to be fair most promotions are the same now. Sport in general has changed over the years and not for the good all money driven. People used to be in sport for glory and honour now just for money. Why these 2 are fighting is beyond me surely they don't need the money. Hope they don't get damaged

Allot of fighters have a hard time letting go which causes them to take fights when they shouldn't. I agree about the fighting landscape. It has changed drastically over the past few years.

Cool I had no idea Oscar De La Hoya was in the promotion business.

@rentmoney, can I get your help? A couple of great friends of mine are putting on a HUGE contest for minnows and newbies.(over 100 SBD in prizes!) It's a simple to play contest. They've given me the task of spreading the word. Do you think I could get you to resteem one or maybe two posts pertaining to to contest? We're trying to get it out to as many newbies as possible.☺

Sure, anytime you need some help just give me a shout. Once you create the post let me know and I will give one a resteem for you and I will possibly do some other things to help you get it noticed as well.

🤗🤗🤗🤗 THIS IS SUCH A WONDERFUL GIFT!!! IT WILL HELP SO MANY!!! THANK YOU!!!🙏🙏🙏

Its my pleasure, you are always giving back to the community and I try to do the same. I look forward to reading more about this contest and helping spread the word.

Okay, so if you can, just resteem my post I'm building to pre promote it. Then when the actual contest launches do as you had said unless you can afford to do both. (I don't know how you work you're magic). But I'd rather have the actual contest promoted more if it must go one way or the other.

Sure, I will resteem the pre-post promotion you create and then send views to the contest post that the promotion is held in.

I just released the promotion post.
