This is the entire furnishings of Mahatma Gandhi's room at the Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
His minimilist lifestyle consisted of his chakra, with which he spun his clothes, the writing desk and his reading stand.

The ashram was started in 1917. Gandhi started his famous Dandi March from here. In 1930, he vowed never to return to this ashram till India got it's Independence. He never returned, as he was assassinated just 4 months after India's Independence.
