Spider web - 📸 - for #MonoMad
It is believed that the spider threads are very strong, they are close to silk in their composition. These threads are much tougher than any known natural or man-made materials. The strength of the material is measured in units called dernier (1 dernier = 1 g per 9000 m). So the spider thread has a tensile strength of from 5 to 8 dernier. Only glass and nylon have similar characteristics. Known for its strength, the steel only holds 3. Scientists have calculated that the thread woven from spider silk, the thickness of a pencil is able to stop the flying Boeing – 747.

Great photo. Love the pattern on the spider's back. And the hairs on its legs. I think the spider is the star of the photo.
@steven-patrick, heh, I really tried to see him closer when I took his photo, and today I saw that he brought me the victory in this photo contest:) Thank you for looking :)

this is so good and i saw it wining various competitions. So congratulations!
@cave-man , thank you for your visit and congratulations.
nice spider. It's really amazing how strong the thin strings are. So tough they can carry a lot of weight eventhoug they are very thin. But they are not only tough but also elastic, i am sure we will use this technology somehow in the future for very interesting projects.
