Esta fotografía la realicé desde un balcón ubicado en la planta alta de la denominada "Casa de Eustoquio Gómez", también conocida como Casa Municipal, y quien habitara allí mientras fue Presidente (cargo que hoy en día corresponde al de Gobernador) del Estado Lara entre los años 1929 y 1935, y donde puede apreciarse a la esquina noreste de la Plaza Bolívar de Barquisimeto, ciudad que se encuentra situada en el occidente venezolano.

La Plaza Bolívar se ubica donde anteriormente estuvo ubicada la Plaza Concepción en 1842. Posteriormente, en 1894 se colocarían unas bellas rejas provenientes de Nueva York y se adquirían varios solares de otras casas para ampliar la plaza. El 4 de junio de 1896, sería reinaugurada dándosele el nombre de Plaza Miranda, permaneciendo así hasta 1925, cuando se le otorga el nombre de Plaza Bolívar, sin embargo, no sería realmente sino hasta 1930 cuando el General Eustoquio Gómez decretaría y construiría el actual pedestal para la colocación de la estatua ecuestre del Padre de la Patria, que fuese traída de Europa en ocasión de conmemorarse el centenario de la muerte de "El Libertador" Simón Bolívar.

La imagen tomada un par de años atrás, en el marco de una convocatoria realizada por las Redes Sociales, para fotógrafos aficionados con la finalidad de realizar un recorrido a pié por el casco histórico de la ciudad, fue realizada a colores y posteriormente intervenida con la aplicación PicsArt que proporciona múltiples filtros, algunos de ellos gratuitos, y otras herramientas para la edición de fotografías.

This photograph was taken from a balcony located on the top floor of the so-called * "Casa de Eustoquio Gómez" *, also known as Municipal House, and who lived there while he was President (a position that today corresponds to that of Governor) of the Lara State between the years 1929 and 1935, and where it can be appreciated to the northeast corner of the Bolívar Plaza of Barquisimeto, city that is located in the Venezuelan West.

The Plaza Bolívar is located where the Plaza Concepción was located in 1842. Later, in 1894 some beautiful grills from New York were placed and several lots were acquired from other houses to expand the plaza. On June 4, 1896, it would be reopened giving it the name of Plaza Miranda, remaining that way until 1925, when it was given the name of Plaza Bolívar, however, it would not really be until 1930 when the General Eustoquio Gómez would decree and build the current pedestal for the placement of the equestrian statue of the Father of the Nation, which was brought from Europe on the occasion of commemorating the centenary of the death of "The Liberator" Simón Bolívar.

The image taken a couple of years ago, in the framework of a call made by Social Networks, for amateur photographers with the purpose of making a walking tour through the historic center of the city, was done in colors and then intervened with the PicsArt application that provides multiple filters, some of them free, and other tools for photo editing.
