Last Summer I visited one of the mountain lakes from the North of Romania. The cold water was casting circles on its surface and all was so quiet and peaceful. Until a "quack" disturbed our thoughts. 🙂
And here they were. Three cute ducks looking for treats. A loaf of bread was not enough to reward them so we decided to give them our entire supply. It totally worth it as these fellows were so funny.

This is also my contribution to the #FeatheredFriday hosted by @keithboone.

I've seen your feathered visitors. They are so cute. I like how they always beg for food. I think they are capable to eat as much as they're fed. 😂

Thanks, Roxy! I can't even imagine how much food they must have to eat in order to stay warm when the temperatures get this cold. Their metabolism must be crazy!

As far as I remember from school, these water birds have huge amounts of fat, including on their feathers. They do not feel cold as we do. However you are right, they have a fast metabolism which require a lot of food. 🙂
