A Little Yellow Butterfly - Part Three
Hello Steemians!
Sometimes our relationships with loved ones can be very complicated. This is quite evident in my story. Its not exactly a tribute to my mother, but rather a hope for her. Butterflies are a classic symbol of transformation, and now a personal symbol of redemption. Today, I invite and welcome butterflies in to my life!

Taos was a wonderful town, but eventually Cindy realized she needed to keep moving further west. Shortly after arriving in Phoenix, she found a great place to live in Mesa, got a job (or two) and carved out a decent life. Occasionally she allowed those last memories of her mother to linger in her mind.
She remembered the scent of burnt flesh and went back to those days at the UNC Burn Center. She witnessed her mother’s body as it began losing definition, all her body tissue swelling with each passing day. Her body turned into a giant worm! This was perfect! Ruth already acted like a worm; now she looked like one too.
Returning to the present, Cindy thought of how Ruth struggled throughout her life, and she certainly had made a mess of it in the end. Was it too much to hope that wormlike monstrosity could emerge as an exquisite winged creature in another dimension? Could her mother now be beautiful, graceful and free?
