Are you Working, or you’re just Watching?

Yes, you heard me right, I am going to repeat myself, are you working or just watching every else work? This is a very important question we must ask ourselves, what is the quality of work we do on a daily basis, what kind of impact that our work has on the intended purpose it was set out for. The truth is sometimes, it feels like we spend a better part of our lives as spectators, sitting in the trenches as we watch the real people slug it out on the pitch, we applaud them as the work. So, many people fall into this category of watchers, their watching to working ration is abysmally unbalanced.

Don’t get me wrong, there is a time in one’s life where watching will be much necessary, where we will need to learn how stuff works. Those periods are during childhood, where we attend elementary school, and listen to the teachers instruct us on what to do. This is the period of great character formation, this is a great period when one must watch and educate oneself. It is this education that will be very important in the quality of work we will later put out there later in life.

As we all must know by now, there is time for everything, a time to watch, and a time to work. This is post is more concerned about the quality of work you put in

and focuses on the fact that is we engaged in great works? This is very crucial in the quality of life we may want to live, if we produce exceptional work, the reward will be bountiful, but if the quality of work we churn out is at best average, then we will get average rewards. And series of average rewards, reviews and an average reputation will invariably translate into an average life, nobody wants to end up to be average.

So, for the result you seek, are you putting in the necessary amount of work needed to attain that great height of ambition? If you spend a majority of your life watching TV, movies, and reading books, that can easily be classified as watching other men reign supreme. Like I said earlier, there is nothing wrong that, but when we spend an enormous amount of time watching, that in its own right, is a massive problem, and it needs to be addressed as soon as possible. There has to be a well-balanced watch to work ratio, in my opinion, we should spend 80% per cent of our time working, and the remaining 20% should be spent watching.

We can’t undermine the importance of watching, because, in a sense, it is a part of working too. If you want to become a great boxer, you have to put in the long hours of work in the gym, and work on your game, but there has to be time made for reflection, watching other great boxers of time past as they fought and try to understand what is it that they did that make their game so good, that won them titles after tiles. Now this is the best way to watch, or if you are an entrepreneur, it will be wise that after your daily hustling and bustling, you take out time to watch some educative views on how to improve your game, which means better sales, and better income; this way, the business will survive.

So at the end of the day, all we need to do is find the right balance between watching and working. Because they are both very important to our growth and development as responsible and successful people.

Sort:

a very interesting array of workers and audiences of people who work.
in everyday life we watch this much, depending on how we react to it. In principle human life is to serve and seek sustenance for the family.
how to find the sustenance of each person is different, depending on the work of each.
Never give up on the situation, work with sincerity and full responsibility will give maximum results.
do not ever be a spectator in the work, because we will be the losers in this life. it is the work of lazy people.
such as the proverbial, industrious base, lazy stupid base.
