Alex Ray spotted on another bike ahead of outdoors
Long time Supercross fans and readers of my blog would know that CycleTrader/Rock River Yamaha Alex Ray's deal was for the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross Series. Rays plan moving forward was to fund his own was as a privateer aboard a Honda for the upcoming Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series but it seems things have changed.
Glen Helen Raceway hosted a practice session for many pros ahead of Hangtown and Alex Ray has been spotted riding a Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing YZ 450F complete with team sponsors on his O'Neil racing kit. It seems with Cooper Webb on the sidelines again with injury has forced the team to step up searching for a replacement.
This makes sense as he is no stranger to the YZF and anyone would be a fool to turn down Factory support when you are facing a season as a privateer. Great news for Ray and this means he can certainly pick up some speed keeping up with fellow Monster Energy Yamaha Factory rider Justin Barcia ahead of the new season.
I will update you guys as soon as something official surfaces.
