Rider Update - Tony Cairoli

Tongues were wagging this weekend after the MXGP of Great Britain as rumors were picking up pace about Antonio Cairoli tweaking his knee in his epic battle with Herlings steemit | busy. It was noticed by a few that he looked to be favoring one leg and winced a bit as he jumped off the podium at the end of the race.

He has since confirmed these rumors with an update while awaiting a checkup yesterday morning.

"Hey everyone, I am on my way to the Formula 1 test. I am super excited. My knee is actually going a little bit better. This morning I spin some laps with my motocross bike, not too much, but it will be okay."

Details are still a little thin on the ground and it's not been confirmed yet if there is damage or just bruising. The statement is very positive though which is a relief, both Cairoli and Herlings have been the star attraction in the MXGP so far this year and the battle last weekend was one of the best i can remember between them. To lose half of this partnership to injury this early on would be a huge blow for racing fans.

Cairoli is trailing Herlings by fifty four points in the MXGP class now so an injury is the last thing he needs. Herlings is on a great run but with a mudder in France expected this weekend the tricky Italian could claw back some points from the Dutchman and that can only be a good thing for race fans :)
