AQUAMAN - MOVIE REVIEW

Aquaman has been known as DC and Warner Bros' best movie since Wonder Woman. If you are wondering what's so special about the movie, you should see it just like I did some days back. Is it worth the time? Well, you've got two minutes to find out. Okay, before reviewing what I saw, let me calm your nerves down. The time, popcorn and drink wasn't wasted at the cinema. I enjoyed watching it. There was humour and a little bit of suspense. And the man, Aquaman was a true definition of a hero.

Well, I've said this countless times. The heroic movies is getting too outdated for this century. I guess I was wrong. Several superheroes keeps coming to life. Just when we thought we wouldn't have any other interesting superheroes aside Superman, Batman, Spiderman and others in Avengers, Black Panther and Aquaman came to stay.

Aqua is related to water, so guessing what his power looks like won't be difficult. But I bet your guess will be wrong, except of course you've seen the trailer before watching the movie. I was expecting someone with the ability to control water just like the waterbenders in Avatar, but Aquaman can do a lot of things in water. He can swim faster than fishes, talk in water, fight, in fact he can do basically anything. He wasn't the only one though. His kind does it too. His mum was from Atlantis, a kingdom under water. She came to earth where he met Aquaman's father. So it made him half human and half atlantean.

He used his abilities on land too, not just water. He was strong just like wolverine, and powerful like Superman. He pushed a submarine in the beginning of the movie and didn't die or get injured when he was shot with a gun. He was indestructible. Technically, the weapons made on earth weren't affecting him, but the ones made in Atlantis got him injured. Black Manta nearly killed him with a knife and I'm still wondering where he got the knife. The only weapons given to Manta was a suit and an Atlantis gun. It's either I skipped a part or that place needs to be carefully looked at.

So Aquaman was to get a weapon to show he is the one true king. After overcoming lots of obstacles, he finally got to the place to get it. The weapon was in gold white alright, but his outfit changed to gold after grabbing the weapon. That looked like a child's play. I wouldn't have made reference to that if it was telemundo or a cartoon story. Where and how he got the golden shirt is a misery not explained. And I kept wondering if the weapon gave him special powers. According to the story, the weapon could do a lot, and it will be terrible if it got to the wrong hands. But what we saw him do with the weapon was control a big creature (he does it without the weapon) and yes, he defeated his brother with it. I feel the effect of that weapon should have been showed just as they told us. I felt they introduced the "weapon finding" part to make the story longer.
