Just finished watching "Coach Carter" played by the amazing Samuel L. Jackson. It's funny at first to see everyone still so young in this film. Well, it was a 2005 film. I give it a good 4.5 stars out of 5! The story is so good, I don't even care about the flaws of this film. Except for the fact that Kyra, played by Ashanti, decided to abort her baby to choose a better life, better future. I'm not a fan. Let's talk about the movie now!

Coach Carter is a biographical sports film based on the true story about a high school basketball team, Richmond Highschool and their basketball coach, Ken Carter. It was directed by Thomas Carter, co-written by John Gatins and Mark Schwahn. Coach Carter premiered in theaters nationwide in the United States on 14th January 2005. I love the storyline. It is a very inspirational and moving at the same time. Richmond Highschool basketball team was very in need of discipline and not to mention training. The movie started with Coach Carter joined Richmond Highschool as a basketball coach because he was from that very school and had been in the team before. When he entered the school, he made the whole team sign a contract with him which stated that the players need to attend all of their classes, sit in the front row, wear ties on game days and maintain a 2.3 (C+) grade point average. It was all good at the beginning. After gaining the attention of the team during practices, they managed to win all games straight. It was all good until he realized that the boys' academic results were not up to expectations. He soon locked up the gym and made all of the team to study in the library. He canceled all practices and even games. He made headlines in 1999 for suspending his undefeated high school basketball team due to poor academic results. The reason he did this is that he doesn't want the boys to just play football and jeopardize their future. After receiving many backlashes from the whole school, even the town, votes were taken to end his crazy basketball lockout. The votes were 4 to 2 against Coach Carter. He decided to leave the school but soon take aback when he enters the gym to found that the boys were sitting and studying. They have decided to finish what Coach Carter started. In the end, most of them, even the one who was very academically poor even in just reading, made it to universities with a full scholarship. BRAVO!!

So if you're looking for movie to watch, I strongly suggest you watch this. Here's the trailer.
