Have you watched the movie "Downsizing" starring Matt Damon, Christoph Waltz, Hong Chau, and Kristen Wiig? I just finished watching it and I can say that it is quite interesting. Before I continue, I must say, I might give out a major spoiler. So do not continue reading if you intend to watch the movie. But I try to not give out too many spoilers. "Downsizing" is a 2017 American film directed by Alexander Payne, written by Payne and Jim Taylor. It is about human chose to be shrunk to 5 inches tall to save human being from overpopulation and global warming. Those who got shrunk could start a new life in an experimental community. With a body so tiny you need tiny houses and other things and these things cost only such little price. So people who chose to be small always ended up rich. The story is circulating around Paul Safranek who chose to get small with his wife due to the costs of living. He ended up getting small alone and a divorce from his wife.

At first, he was living in a big mansion up until a year after getting small, he signed a divorce paper with a lawyer and has been living in a tiny apartment and a job as a customer service of Lands End. Just when you start to get bored of the movie, Hong Chau appeared and saves the movie. Hong Chau plays a Vietnamese political activist who was jailed and downsized against her will, Ngoc Lan Tran. I love her! I'm looking forward to more of Hong Chau in movies. Oh! She even managed to get nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 75th Golden Globe Awards. So much funny scene when she appeared. I won't be spoiling any more of the movie and let you watch it in peace. The movie for me is quite interesting and weird at the same time. It also made you think of what can we actually do to save the world from overpopulation or the end of the world. Oh yeah, forgot to tell you, Matt Damon is not actually fat in the movie. Hong Chao once said in an interview that he was wearing a fat suit. haha...
