Storyline Summary

At that time, something like a creature came and caused people to behave in a psychotic manner and kill themselves. The creature would have power over you if you have eye contact with it. The main character in the movie is Malorie. She was a pregnant artist who was quite distant from her parents. The only family she was close to was her her sister(Jessica) who later died a few minutes into the movie.

Malorie later found shelter with some other people in the house of Douglas after the whole country went into chaos. They stayed indoors and avoided contact with anyone outside until one of the housemates(Olympia) opened the door for one of the psychotics without knowing he was infected. The infected man known as Gary finally had to chance to infect them when Malorie and Olympia went into labour because they were both pregnant. Olympia later committed suicide after being infected by Gary. Tom who was also a housemate later killed Gary and saved Malorie and the newborns.

Five years later the children are grown and they are living as family, that is Malorie, Tom and the children(named Girl and Boy). One day, they went in search of food and were attacked by some of those psychotic people. Tom had to stay behind to protect them while Malorie took the children and ran. Tom later became infected and shot himself after killing their attackers first.

Malorie then had to take herself and the children to a safe place through a turbulent river with their eyes covered. They survived the river and got to the place. The place was a school for the blind and they were safe there.

My Thoughts

The movie has very interesting plots and twists to it. I like that the first scene really captured my attention as Sandra Bullock was sternly explaining to her children that they must obey her and never take their blindfods off if they want to live. It kept me wondering what the movie was all about. I like that the movie is horror but in n a subtle way. I personally do not have the mind for strong horror movies.
The movie has a wonderful and almost perfect pace, great character development as i learnt who is who as the twists kept unravelling, and great performances in a rather scary environment while still keeping me guessing the details and keeping me engaged.

Overall, the movie is a good watch and I'm glad I'm got to see it.

I strongly recommend you go see this movie if you haven't. It will be worth your time.
