Ivan’s top four horror (pt. 1)
Welcome back dear readers. This time is time for horror movies to get the spotlight, and if you’re wondering why there’s four of them it’s mainly because of two reasons: I like things that rhyme and I’ve seen waaaaay more horrors than mysteries. So without further ado I give you “Ivan’s top four horror”.
4 Scream (1996)
On position four this week is an old time classic titled “Scream”. You’ve all probably seen the ghostface mask being sold at least once in your life or heard the famous phrase “What’s your favorite scary movie?” The plot is simple, a year after losing her mother, a girl and her friends started getting terrorized by a masked killer. Who will die and who will live is up to you to find out.
3 The Descent (2005)
Third place goes to “The Descent”, a movie guaranteed to freak out a lot of claustrophobic folks. It’s a mixture that contains the realistic fear and danger of cave exploring and crawling in tight spaces with a touch of fictional creatures living in depths. An all women crew working together to try and survive versus creatures of the dark, who will win?
2 The Orphanage (2007)
“The Orphanage” comes in second this week. Bringing a child to a house which used to be a shelter for orphaned children may not always be the right choice. And it gets worse when the child starts seeing creepy masked children and goes on to play with them. In order to save her child his mother needs to understand the past and solve a riddle. Does she make it in time go ahead and see it for yourselves.
1 Sinister (2012)
My winner for this week’s list “Sinister” is also my all time favorite horror movie. It’s captivating from the very beginning and as the mysteries unravel new ones take their place. A writer moving his family to house which belonged to a murdered family in order to do research for his new book, discovers a box of some seriously messed up home made movies which take him on an adventure of his life. The rest of the family don’t find the house as interesting as he does though. Is it just their imagination or is there something sinister going on after all?
