The Sixth Sense

What do you see?

When I saw this the first time, I didn't see the twist coming, which doesn't happen that often. I can normally see the twist/direction that a movie is going before most people. This makes it one of those films that you should indeed see.

I will keep the rest of this short for anyone that hasn't seen it so as to now spoil it. Here we have Bruce Willis who plays a successful child psychologist. He returns home one night after having been honoured for his work.

Bruce's character seems to put his work above everything else. An ex-patient arrives at his home and accuses Bruce of failing him. The former patient was treated by him for hallucinations when he was a child. The patient then shoots his former doctor before turning the gun on himself.

The following Autumn the doctor begins working with new patient, a nine-year-old boy. This patient reminds the doctor of the patient that he "failed" far too much, and soon the doctor becomes borderline obsessed.

The doctor and his wife have grown apart, and hardly talk or do anything together. The doctor believes that if he can help this new patient that he will regain control over his life. But whom is really helping whom? To answer that you need to watch it.
