Hello friends, I'm going to talk to you today about Coco, the latest cartoon from Disney-Pixar Studios.

It takes place in the land of the dead. Like in the real life in Mexico during the Dia de Muertos, there are many scenes with music and celebrations, indeed this celebration are happy unlike the theme of death which is celebrated.

Coco released in cinemas in Belgium this November 29, 2017.

The Dia de Muertos is a festival of the dead celebrated every year by the Mexicans at the beginning of November.

This festival is distinguished from other festivals of the dead by the festive character and by the realization of altars dedicated to the dead and covered with offerings of objects, flowers and food.

This celebration generally begins October 31.

Summary

Miguel, 12, dreams of making music but his family is again the fact of playing music or any instruments.

On the day during the Day of the Dead, Coco is sent into the world of the dead where he finds all the deceased members of his family (funny skeletons).

This Coco movie may allow some parents to talk about this delicate topic with their young children. Personally, my two boys are in the middle of this questioning, especially since the death of my grandmother ...

At the end of the day, it is certainly not the youngest who will leave the room but the parent. Children wonder a lot about death, which worries adults first and foremost. They are afraid of being hurt, of being touched, of being conscious of wanting to do many things in their lives.

The question of death by the children

My children ask me a lot of questions about death. Indeed, around 4 or 5 years old, they begin to wonder if they are you going to die one day. It’s very difficult to explain that yes they will die on day and their parents too. Tell to mine 5 year old child yes your mom and your dad will die or yes your grandmother and your grandfather are old and they will die a day is very difficult for me…

We have to tell the truth. We must not give them false explanations or incorrect explanations, we must try to tell them the truth in the most gentle and simple way possible and in a tone that says it's like “that it's normal do not you do not worry about it” not with a trembling voice and a tear in the eye which would engorze them a maximum.

It must be said very clearly. The best is the simplicity, it is to explain that the death is definitive, that one will not see the person any more.

I advise you to go see this cartoon, it is full of humor, although the theme of death is addressed. The images are beautiful, the skeletons are really well thought out and drawn and there are lots of beautiful catchy music.
