All About Eve (1950) by Joseph L. Mankiewicz (REVIEW)

in #movie5 years ago

A worshiper climbs into a famous actress. The actress, Margo is at a stage when she is aging for the roles she plays, is about a younger playwright and hangs out with the elite of the drama theater. The movie is retrospectively, and begins with how Yves (the admirer) gets the best actress award, and from here you already know what happened.

The content of the film is not as important as the number of dialogues in it. Epten liked the character of Margo, no matter how emotionally unstable, precarious, paranoid, and full of cynicism, there is so much passion and wisdom in what he says.

The movie has everything that a drama should have to make it great. Plus the acting of the actresses is incredible, something that does not exist in modern films especially in women's roles, today somehow everyone knows just to play sex and flirtation.
